'Covies' is a group run by volunteers from Lansdowne Baptist Church, for young people aged 11 - 14 years. We meet during term time on a Friday evening, usually from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm and on a Sunday morning from 10.30 am at Lansdowne Baptist Church, Lansdowne Road, Bournemouth.
The leaders of 'Covies' are committed Christians and members of Lansdowne Baptist Church. All the leaders have been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau. The Friday evening club and Sunday morning teaching are part of the Church's youth work programme.
Sundays
Sunday morning 'Covies' meet at the church from 10.30 am to 11.45 am. During this time we meet to worship God, read the Bible, learn more about our Christian faith and through this, develop a personal relationship with God.
Fridays
Friday evenings offer a range of exciting and varied activities at the church, with occasional trips out. On Friday evenings we aim to provide a safe place to relax, make new friends and have lots of fun! In addition, we aim to provide a Christian environment where young Christians can grow in their faith. Therefore, the young people who attend are expected to behave in a friendly and co-operative manner.
Any young person wishing to attend regularly must complete a parental consent form.
The Covie leaders are Joe Nisbet, Fi Maitland, Martin Grisdale and Andy and Louise Perrins.
